How Could I Live Without It ~ My New Stroller!

We got a new stroller and I LOVE it! It's the: Combi Cosmo EX stroller!
iconI am not a huge fan of strollers, and I hate shopping for them and of course forking over the money for a nicer one. We have the wonderful Graco infant seat/stroller combo and love it. Someone gave it to us as a VERY surprise gift for Ladybug. I knew it would be perfect for the early months and great for long day trips, but not for the everyday stroller needs as it is huge and heavy.

My kind Mom took me stroller shopping awhile ago and let me get exactly the one I wanted (within reason) for Ladybug and this ended up being the one! At first I overlooked it because it seems to be very cheaply made, but oh it is not!

After taking down, folding up, and putting back up MANY other strollers, I was drawn back to this one. I examined it thoroughly and then put Ladybug in it. She was asleep in minutes ;). A very good sign! Needless to say, we left Babies R Us with this great stroller an have now had it for a few months. It has been tested well.

We love this stroller, it is a perfect lite weight stroller and it hold up to 50 lbs! Even Krash can ride in it if he needs to. The bag underneath is small but has an elastic part at the front so I can actually load it up pretty well!

My mom made a nice sun shade for the front out of a piece of coordinating fabric (the red and white striped part ) we found, and it works great.

I also love that the sun shade on the stroller has a nice window to see her through from the top. I love so many things about this stroller, and she's quite happy in it too!

Do you have a post about your favorite (or least favorite) stroller on your blog? I'd love for you to link it up in the comments...or leave a quick comment sharing one you love.

bumGenius AIO Organic Diaper Review

I bought Ladybug the bumGenius AIO Organic diaper to try out, and I am finally ready to share my thoughts about this diaper!

Look how cute it is!!!!! Yes, that IS important!!!

Here's what I like about this diaper:
  • The snaps, I have a few dipes with snaps now and these are by far my favorite snaps. They are the easiest to work with.
  • It is all in one (AIO), which means no insert to remove and insert! Makes it much easier and faster!
  • It dries in the sun fairly quickly. A bit longer than the pockets and inserts, but much faster than my other all in one (Monkey Doodlez).
  • MUCH more trim than other dipes I own.
What isn't all that great (although it's not that bad either)...
  • This diaper leaked the first several times she wore it!!! I then learned that I was supposed to prep it by washing it 3-6 times before it would "work". Once I did this it was fine and hasn't leaked since.
  • The interior is more rough feeling. Yes, it is organic, but it is not soft at all, compared with all of my other dipes.
Will I be buying more?

No. Mainly because it is more expensive and for me the soft fabric on her precious bum is important. I do love the snaps and the way it looks, the ease of it being AIO...but for the cost, I will stick with the regular bumGenius.

Knickernappies One Size Diaper Review

Here's Ladybug in her Knickernappies One Size Side Snapping Pocket Diaper in Brown...

As you can see it passes the all important *cute test* :-).

On to the part that really matters, here's what I like about this diaper:
  • the color...one of the few offered in dark brown
  • the snaps, our bumGenius dipes are velcro, and although they are more convenient during changes, I know they probably won't hold up for the years we will need these dipes
  • it does not leak...always a plus! It comes with 2 inserts and I am only using one and we're fine (Ladybug is 13 weeks old).
  • the inside is really soft.
  • the insert is easier to yank out before throwing it into the dirty diaper pail (compared to our BG inserts)
What isn't all that great (although it's not that bad either)...
  • the position of the snaps (opposite of how you put on most diapers), makes it a bit odd at first. I am getting used to it, but think it would be really hard with a squirmy baby (she is not squirmy).
  • the insert is harder to get in than the bumGenius, but not a big problem.

Will I be buying more?

Maybe. But only for the color choice of brown. I am going to try out one more brown dipe (Monkey Doodlez), but it's a sized dipe so I am not sure I can justify buying a bunch of them. If I didn't already own 18 bumGenius dipes, I would definitely have a few more Knickernappies in my stash.

Our grand total of cloth diapers is now at 21, with a goal stopping point of 36. I will say 21 is enough though, I just want to have more to reduce wear and tear on them. I think I will still probably do laundry the way I am now which is every other or every 3 days. That's about all our line will hold, as I am hang drying now too!!!

How would I live without it?

She's in!!!!!! I am so thrilled that I was able to get Ladybug in my ERGO Baby Carrier! It is not made for newborns (unless you have the newborn insert), but at 1 month old I decided to try and see if I could get her all bundled up in there and it worked!

I LOVE this carrier!!!! I got it when Krash was about 6 months old and he can still ride in it today! Now I get to enjoy it for many years with Ladybug too. It is the most comfortable, versatile and wonderful carrier. I also own a BabyBjörn and a Hotsling. The Hotsling is great too, but not as comfy for me. I do not really like my Bjorn anymore after switching to the Ergo. If you are not familiar with the Ergo, I highly recommend going to their website (link above) and reading about the many wonderful features.
